An Ayurvedic program to help rebuild your digestion and prepare your body for winter - guided by Thais Nogueira in collaboration with Carol Jamault

Give your body a chance to rest & reset

According to the ancient tradition of Ayurveda, Fall is the perfect time for a cleanse. It’s a transitional season (in the middle of Summer and Winter), not too cold nor too hot, appropriate to support your body to more intense practices of cleansing.

After the months of Summer, when we’re busy socializing, sleeping later, accumulating heat from the sun rays, our bodies tend to be more dry and inflammed. If you couple that with the dryness and coolness that come in the Fall, the elements of air and space can go awry and cause a lot of imbalances.

A Fall Ayurvedic cleanse is gentle enough for all people (aside from pregnant and early postpartum/exclusively breastfeeding moms), and it’ll focus on rebuilding and rejuvenating your body for the cold months to come.

Overview of the program

First Stage

Simplify and prepare - October 2nd

3 days. During this phase you will learn how to progressively eliminate a few things from your diet – sugar, alcohol, coffee, processed foods, meat, etc. – while introducing some self-care routines. You will become familiar with the ingredients and spices used to prepare the recipes on our resource files, and learn how to add certain herbs and supplements if desired. We will also teach you some breathing techniques and self-care practices.

Second Stage

PURIFY AND REST - October 5th

1 to 5 days*. This phase is the actual detox phase and where we will be focusing on having three plant based, easy to digest, purifying but still nourishing meals enriched with specific healing synergies of spices. Here the focus is in eliminating toxins from the tissues of the body while enkindling the digestive fire (agni).

*If needed or desired, this phase can be shortened to 1 day or lengthen to 5 days depending on your practice level, goals, and schedule.

Third Stage

NOURISH AND RENEW - UNTIL October 15th

5 days. Now that your body is clean and ready to be nourished, we'll help you design the body-mind relationship you wish to have.

The purpose of an Ayurvedic cleanse is to prepare for rejuvenation (rasayana) and in this phase we teach you how to build vitality (ojas) and to achieve equanimity through promoting calm states of the mind (sattvas). We will introduce nutrient rich foods that will deeply nourish and rejuvenate the tissues.

At the end of the program, you’ll know how to integrate all the tools learned so far and how use them for life!

PLANNING OF THE STAGES

Tuesday, October 1st:

Release of our Fall Renewal ebook with the instructions and recipes you will need for the cleanse. In this day we will also be opening the members area where you will find additional videos, downloadable pdfs and a carefully curated collection of supportive learning materials.

All of our program is done through online materials and a Whatsapp group

Wednesday, October 2nd: Phase One starts

Step-by-step guidance and support as we progressively eliminate certain foods and add self-care routines to our days. We will also share some basic concepts of Ayurveda and how we can use this cleanse to align ourselves with the rhythm of the Season preparing our bodies for the deep cleanse in Phase Two, and for the nourishment and rejuvenation (rasayana) in Phase Three.

Saturday, October 5th: Phase Two starts (and lasts 1 to 5 days)

Starting where you are! Together we will access your individual reality and goals to determine how gently or deeply you can embrace Phase Two. This phase can be as simple as a few days adopting a 3-meals per day vegetarian diet, or a more intense mono-diet of kitchari, eventually involving intermittent fasting and intake of ghee (for seasoned cleansers). Each participant will have the opportunity to understand all steps and levels of intensity, and decide how to proceed through each step. This phase prepares the body for the nourishment and rejuvenation (rasayana) of Phase Three.

From October 10th until the 15th: Phase Three — Rejuvenation (Rasayana)

In this phase we will gently focus on identifying habits that we are ready to let go and some that will be gently reintroduced after the cleansing phase. With the awareness acquired from this experience, we can now design our diet and lifestyle in order to promote ojas (vitality) and sattvas (a calm state of mind). You'll continue to have our WhatsApp group support until October 15th.

Who should not take this course:

  • Although you will likely lose some weight, this is not a weight loss program.

  • This is also not a juice/shakes cleanse. Not a fasting program.

  • Please also note that there are times when a cleanse may not be suitable to your body. If you have (or if you are recovering from) an acute illness, a cleanse may not be indicated. During pregnancy or nursing the program should be tailored to your specific needs and in this cases we recommend you to take it in a private coaching format instead of group guidance. If you have questions about whether this cleanse is appropriate for you, consult with your primary care provider, or contact Carol or Thais for details and personalized guidance.
